My New Year's Resolution is to blog more often in 2009!
After September, things got crazy! We celebrated Hansen's birthday and Halloween in October, we went to China for 3 weeks in November and spent most of December trying to get ready for the holidays. We drove down to Southern California and spent 5 days with my family. I think it was nearly 5 months since I saw them last! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Happy New Year and may 2009 bring you good health and good cheers!
It has definitely been quite a while since I have had time to blog. It is amazing how busy your life gets. Anyhow, there are lots of events and stories to tell, so I'll try to keep everything brief.
Event#1: I FINALLY had the courage to chop off 6 inches of my hair! And boy does it feel good! It is so freakin' light and very easy to maintain. I highly recommend it to women who have very little time to get ready in the morning.
Event#2: Snickers & Truffles' Day Out. Since Carmel is known to be one of the most dog friendly towns, we decided it would be fun to take the dogs out for the day to play at the beach. This was around the end of August. There is also a video clip of Snickers' digging away in the sand! HAHA The dogs definitely had a blast!
Here is Snickers in his life vest! LOL

Event#3: Make me crafty! For some strange reason, I have the urge to start being crafty again. I have been baking a lot and now looking into making personal cards instead of purchasing them. Here's one card I started (I even made the cupcake by hand myself):
The next thing I will be working on is making cute goodie boxes so I can put my baking stuff in it and give them to people. I'll keep you posted on how that comes along.
Event#4: Mini reunion. Sheryl and her cousin came up to SF for a visit. It was really good to see familiar faces up here. And I even got to see Kenny, who I have not seen in at least 3 years!
Event#5: Jessica's Birthday! It was a very eventful night. We were up until 4 AM!!! I don't remember the last time I was up that late. Needless to say, I think we all had a blast! The night started off with dinner at Benihana's, where there was some sake bombing. We then headed back home and surprised Jessica with her favorite cake, mint chocolate chip ice cream cake. There was some wine and a game of I NEVER. After the bottle of wine was finished, we decided to go to a Karaoke studio. A few hours later, we were back home for more I NEVER while having Jack and Coke. By this time it was so late we ended up having a sleepover! My first real sleepover ever!!! I know, sad, huh?!

Well, that's a few things that have been going on since the last post. Until next time, have a great weekend! :)
Okay...more like 1 second! HAHA Our wedding photographer and her husband were interviewed by Lifetime Channel. One of our engagement pictures made it on TV!!!
Here is a screen shot:
If you want to check out the interview go to http://www.getmarried.com/on_tv.php and watch episode 54.
Okay...finally...here are the pictures from our 1 year anniversary. They even gave us cute pins to wear that say, "Happy Anniversary!" It is quite cute because Mickey and Minnie Mouse are holding hands. :)

Dinner at the Blue Bayou:
The place where we ordered our wedding cake does this cool thing where on your one year anniversary they remake your cake top exactly how it was on your wedding day. This way you can cut and serve the top tier and not have to freeze it for a year. It was a huge ordeal driving it from Socal back to Norcal. We had it in an ice cooler with tons of ice, but the temperature was about 103 degress out so the cake started to shift. :( Though it does not look as beautiful as when we picked it up, it still tasted great!!! Here we are attempting to re-enact our wedding dinner:
Chinese Food...well, kinda...
Same champagne and champagne glass from the wedding:
We even brought out the cake knife!
We hope everyone had a great 4th of July!!!
Wow, it sure has been a really long time since I have blogged. Life at work has just been so hectic so I come home way too exhausted to do much of anything. Hopefully this will not be a routine because I would love to have my life back!
Anyhow, today is our 1 year anniversary! :) Happy Anniversary, sweetheart!!! I LOVE YOU!!! *Eskimo kiss* If I had to describe in one word what the year was like, I would have to say eventful. Lets take a quick visit down memory lane: we got married, went to Italy, bought a house, bought a car, made some new friends, and I got a promotion at work (finally!)!!! Overall, it is pretty clear that we have been given an extremely wonderful and blessed life together. I am looking forward to many more years ahead with you. It makes me smile to know we will be growing old together. Though, I would love to spend FOREVER with you. Too bad I do not work for a pharmaceutical company that is developing a drug for immortality!!! :)
As for what we have planned for our one year anniversary. Well, we wanted to go to Hong Kong and China. However, since the Olympics will be out there this year we wanted to wait until all the chaos was over. So, we will not be going until October. We still wanted to do something fun for our actual anniversary date so we decided to spend it....drum roll please...at Disneyland of course!!!
Last year, the day after our wedding, we went to Disneyland with some family members from out of town. So, we thought, hey why not continue the tradition? We made dinner reservations at the blue bayou this year. It was delicious! We also got to experience some new rides...Nemo and Toy Story Mania. Both were cute and fun in their own way! :) I just wish Norcal had a theme park as wonderful as Disneyland!!!
I am sorry there are no pictures in this post. I have not uploaded pictures to my computer yet. I promise to do this ASAP so check back soon!
Hope everyone is having a great summer!!! A big CONGRATULATIONS to all our family and friends who graduated from undergrad and grad school!!! We are super happy and proud of you all!!! We wish everyone continued success, good health, and happiness! :) Cheers everyone!
Michelle Maykin was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in February 2007. Right now, she's down to the last few weeks and needs to find a bone marrow match by JUNE 21. She is of Chinese/Vietnamese descent and it is more likely she'll find a match within the same ethnic/racial group.
Right now, there is a team, Project Michelle, who is organizing donor drives all over... at schools, offices, etc. They are calling out to people to help by getting registered as a donor or helping to organize donor drives where registrations will be expedited and processed against Michelle's bone marrow type.
Think about it, if you register and match... you could save Michelle's life. If you don't match, you could still be saving someone else who desperately needs a match. According to Asians for Miracle Marrow Matches, there is an unfortunate lack of Asian donors in the national registry... and we need to change that!!!
